Opening up the program today was returning guest Sheryl Nicholson.  As a top rated speaker and author, Sheryl Nicholson, has earned her Certified Speaking Professional designation that is given to the top 5% in the industry. Clients include The CIA, Government agencies, and emerging businesses and she is considered a people productivity expert who develops people skills – often mistakenly called “soft skills” that she called instead POWER SKILLS. She was in studio today to talk about how to improve your speaking and presentation skills starting with a discussion on how she caters her talks to her client’s needs.  Many speakers have a few keynote speeches ready to use but she does not take that direction, again customizing her speeches to meet the audience she is talking to.  She shares with us a number of techniques to ease yourself on stage including “hooking” whereby you cross your arms, hook your fingers under your elbows, breathe and imagine a scene that makes you happy and thus “hook” yourself to that location.  This will relax and ease you into your speaking presentation.  She also discussed how to anchor yourself to a position on stage and avoid crossing the stage during your presentation.  Some speakers are known for their on stage movements but unless you are moving throughout a crowd, the effect is often to minimize your impact.  Regarding questions, she recommends the speaker to have the audience text in questions throughout the discussion and then you can pick and choose what questions to incorporate into your discussion too.  With over 30 years of speaking experience, Sheryl can be contacted for your next speaking engagement.  Get in touch with her at 727-678-6707 or femalespeaker@gmail.com and learn more at www.sheryl.com!

At 7:30, we welcomed Susan Garrett, Program Director from the St. Petersburg College Workforce Institute.  The SPC’s Workforce Institute is the non-degree seeking department of the college and focuses on professional training and certifications.  They offer training in 85 industry recognized certifications in high-demand business sectors such as Information and Innovative Technologies, Manufacturing, Business and Finance, Health Care, Supply Chain, and Public Safety.  The department works with new students first on an assessment to help them identify a career path for those unsure.  Once enrolled, students can take advantage of a variety of benefits including Job Preparation and Placement, Resume Assistance, Interview Preparation, LinkedIn profile development, Job Search Strategies and more.  Available funding sources for students that were discussed were WIOA, Youth Connect, and the Pinellas Opportunity Council.  The department also offers corporate training for companies who want to train groups of employees.  This is customizable and available at SPC or at the company.   SPC is also part of the Global Corporate College, a network of 50 colleges and universities across the United States committed to delivering consistent high-quality training.  Think of it as a one-stop training solution for companies with multiple locations.  The college also has collaborative labs which function as your business team’s idea incubator, creative studio, business laboratory and planning factory.  You can map hundreds of activities and then see the whole plan at once.  It is web-based and real-time records capture team solutions and deliverables.  A team of facilitators is available to employ a systematic approach to orienting your team to the situation — exploring new options, studying relevant trends and data, building models for addressing the challenge, testing these models, and facilitating the implementation for the most robust ideas.  Other benefits include a cartoonist (yes a cartoonist),  Interactive smart boards, video conferencing, LCD projectors/screens, plasma display, Wi-Fi, internet phone, color printers, music system, RF voting devices, digital video recorders, digital cameras, and groupware.  The Workforce Institute is holding a Healthcare Professions Expo on October 7th from 11am to 3pm including information on phlebotomy tech courses, CAN to CMA Bridge Program and Clinical Medical Assistant Program to name a few of the offerings to review that day.  Learn more at www.spcollege.edu/workforce or call 727-341-4761.

At 8am, we welcomed the duo of Marc Poling, Owner of Mango Cleaners and long-time friend and business partner Ashley Butler who owns an Ice Cold Air Franchise on Dale Mabry and is now working with Marc on their new Wash Club.  Originally from West Virginia, Marc became a budding entrepreneur in elementary school with his first start-ups, a neighborhood lemonade stand and candy bar business.  Throughout high school, Marc worked various part-time jobs, while continuing to develop his entrepreneurial skills, along with his talents as an up-in-coming musician.  During college, Marc’s business savvy and networking skills were instrumental in forming St. Petersburg’s “wildest rock-n-roll band”, Mark and the Marksmen.  Marc’s roles as lead singer, guitarist and band promoter, secured the band’s contracts performing at venues throughout the Southwest Florida region until Marc relocated to Louisiana.  Marc earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University (LSU), and soon after college joined the United States Navy.  Upon his completion of service, Marc became an auditor for the Veterans Administration in Florida, where he led a veterans’ employment program to the #1 spot in the country for success in matching veterans to jobs.  Shortly after his success with the VA, Marc realized he was happiest living his passion as an entrepreneur and became the owner of Poling Place Bookstore and Bookstore Fixtures of America.  After his stint in the bookselling industry, Marc pursued a career as a Commercial Real Estate Broker and Developer, while also becoming the owner of Spring Hill Mini Golf.  Marc has also served as a Senior Executive for Excel Telecommunication’s Europe division, which allowed him to reside and travel internationally for part of his career.  Marc got his start in the dry cleaning industry as a dry cleaning business broker, which led him to purchasing his own dry cleaning business, Mango Cleaners and Laundry.  As a successful business owner, Marc dedicates himself to operating Mango’s three locations, which serve the greater Tampa Bay area and Pinellas County.  Today, his business is opening up the Wash Club which is On Demand laundry services at a low monthly cost instead of traditional services which are by the pound.  Simply visit www.mangocleaners.com and get started today!

Helping the Tampa Bay Community Dress For Success – #ThatBusinessShow – Featuring Jim Webb, Robert Rorebeck, Karen Pittman, Kelly Falconer-Miller, and Dr. Zora Carrier

Helping the Tampa Bay Community Dress For Success – #ThatBusinessShow – Featuring Jim Webb, Robert Rorebeck, Karen Pittman, Kelly Falconer-Miller, and Dr. Zora Carrier

#ThatBusinessShow is Tampa’s only terrestrial based radio programming that introduces you to the leaders in our community. Featuring business leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizational leaders, we work to bring you positive programming as an alternative to the negativity that clouds our media outlets. Airing Monday through Friday from 7am to 9am on Tampa Bay’s 1250WHNZ, we ask that you help promote the show and help it stay on the airwaves. The ways we support the show is through memberships in TBBO, our business network offering radio time, events and networking opportunites – apply for membership at http://www.tampabayradio.com and also through sponsorships. We are currently looking for a large bank and / or attorney sponsor as a cornerstone to the program. Please make connections for us to any decision makers at these businesses via email to jamie@tampabayradio.com! Great things are happening at TBBO and the radio show, more to follow!!
One of the benefits of TBBO membership is our Success Safaris. These are free member events where we tour a local business facility to hear about the Owner’s business and also hear their stories of failure / success along the way. We had the privilege of touring Rustic Steel Creations yesterday afternoon along with Firehouse #5, a renovated fire station that is now an art gallery, event space and now personal residence of Dominique Martinez, Founder of Rustic Steel Creations. Located at 3919 N Highland Ave in Tampa, Rustic Steel Creations is where metal creations come to life. You have probably seen some of them around Tampa from the fish and bull that travel from business to business to the permanent creations such as the hockey player at the Amalie Arena and the door / interior at the Ulele Restaurant. Dominique is a past guest on That Business Show and his story of walking away from corporate America on a whim and without a plan which led to Rustic Steel Creations inspired Jamie and he wanted the membership to hear his story. Today, with over 10 years in business, Rustic Steel has created countless metal works and they now have a contract with PDQ Restaurants nationwide to build metal chickens that will sit out front of all the restaurants. They offer weekend creative welding classes too and are happy to have you stop by for a tour of the facility. Find out more at http://www.rusticsteel.com and https://www.facebook.com/TPAFireStation5/ for more on the Fire Station!

In the 7am hour today, we welcomed the duo of Jim Webb and Robert Rorebeck. Jim is the founder of Webb Works and has worked with Robert who serves as the Video Production Coordinator for the past 3 years. Jim is a seasoned Tampa resident and for years worked in television as Photojournalist of Special Projects and performed videography and post-production editing for Channel 8, The Medical Beat, with Irene Maher. He was also the Primary helicopter videographer in “Eagle 8” for 20 years and worked as the consumer investigations unit shooter and editor for 5 years. Robert and Jim discovered they had several areas of interest in common, including the desire to produce legacy videos. From there, Robert began assisting Jim on various video shoots – weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, ceremonies, and presentations – serving as second camera, audio and lighting grip, and creative consultant. Lately, their focus has been on assisting local business leaders with their self-promotional ‘elevator pitch’ speeches in the comfort and controlled environment of Jim’s south West Shore studio. The elevator pitch process involves the business person writing a 60 or 90 second script on who they are, what they do, and WHY they do it. The script is then downloaded into the teleprompter, read into the camera, and usually in one or two takes, the person has a promotional piece they can put on social media immediately. Results may vary, but the overall response has been very effective in getting their message out and bringing in new business. This discussion is refreshing and reminiscent and touches on Jamie’s family history too involving the legacy of his grandfather who is still one of the last surviving inmates of Alcatraz, having served 15 years in prison for bank robbery alongside the likes of James “Whitey” Bulger and Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers who supposedly escaped from Alcatraz in 1961. Everyone has a story and Jim / Robert work to preserve that story in legacy videos. Get in touch with them today to produce yours by calling 813-817-9840 or online at http://www.thewebbworks.com!

8am started #WorkingWomenWednesday highlighting the organization that houses many of Tampa’s professional women across Tampa Bay. Get involved at http://www.workingwomenoftampabay.com!

Jessica was absent on the #MorningDiscussion but we had an excellent panel of guests to educate, inform and inspire our listeners this morning starting with Karen Pittman, VP of Business Development with Vein911 and wife of Regular Contributor Dr. Chris Pittman who is the Medical Director and CEO. Karen came on the program serving in the patient testimonial role today as she has had many of the procedures done that Dr. Pittman and Jamie have discussed many times on the program. She recently had her hand veins removed via his non-surgical procedure and showed off the result on the program and she also shares a success story of a patient who suffered from ankle swelling and could not walk in heels during events due to the swelling that would cause her feet to swell to a foot size larger. After the non-surgical procedure, she no longer complained of ankle swelling. Many will wonder how ankle swelling is related to vein disorders but it is and Jamie has had this discussion with Dr. Pittman many times. While the science of how it is related along with the relation of other leg disorders like restless legs and night cramps to vein issues is not fully understood, patients still see resolve to these issues at Vein911. Get in touch with them today for a free consultation. Visit http://www.vein911.com or call them at 855-Vein-911!

Our next guest was Kelly Falconer-Miller was joined the #MorningDiscussion to talk about Dress For Success, a national organization that works to collect professional clothing for budding professional women. They are having an excess inventory sale this Friday and Saturday and women from all walks of life are welcome to come by and pick out some professional wear at bargain pricing! Normally Dress for Success Tampa Bay serves clients by referral only, and women must have an interview scheduled before receiving clothing. Their clients come to them from a continually expanding and diverse group of non-profit and government agencies including homeless shelters, immigration services, job training programs, educational institutions and domestic violence shelters, among many other organizations. More than 2,750 organizations throughout the world send women to the organization. Get involved and learn more at http://www.tampabay.dressforsuccess.org!
Rounding out the hour was Dr. Zora Carrier, Director of the Florida Museum of Photographic Art. Dr. Carrier is an accomplished art educator and received her Ph.D. in Education from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovak Republic in 1989. In 2002, she co-founded and was director of Gallery Art Factory in Prague, Czech Republic, a not-for-profit institution presenting modern and contemporary art. In 2006, she founded the Open Concept Gallery in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where, as director, she managed art projects and art education programming. Before becoming the Director of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, she consulted on educational opportunities. The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is a museum dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art as central to contemporary life and culture. FMOPA collects, preserves, and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known photographic artists. FMOPA also enriches the community by operating outreach programs to educate children and adults. Their Current Exhibition is Undiscovered Self and serves as a retrospective exhibition of Uelsmann’s work spanning over the last 50 years. He remains the forerunner of photomontage in America for the 20th century as he employs multiple negatives to create intricate darkroom works of art. The process involves the combination of his ever growing negatives collection and numerous enlargers to produce the final, dream-like image. Uelsmann’s re-contextualized interpretation of landscape and reality dynamically require the viewer to critically analyze their own understanding of the surreal composition. Located at 400 N Ashley Drive next to the Sykes Building, they are open 7 days a week. Learn more at http://www.fmopa.org!

At 7:00 am, we were joined by Regular Contributor Dr. Chris Pittman, Medical Director and CEO of Vein911. Dr. Pittman is triple board certified and one of only a few hundred physicians Board-Certified in Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.  Known for their minimally invasive non-surgical technique for the treatment of varicose veins, Dr. Pittman and Vein 911 is revolutionizing vein care.  Their mission is to help you look and feel your best and they have offices in Tampa and St. Petersburg and can easily be reached by calling 855-VEIN-911. Dr. Pittman is a trained radiologist and spoke in the opening segment about varicose veins and their pain free outpatient procedure for their treatment.  Many doctors practicing vein treatment still utilize a surgical procedure for this treatment and Dr. Pittman is adamant that is no longer necessary.  His techniques using Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy can have your legs looking as good as new in just a few procedures and without the pain of other procedures.  He routinely sees patients treated by other procedures and has near 100% patient satisfaction in this group.  Dr. Pittman also elaborates on some of the other conditions of the legs that may be related to undiagnosed vein disorders such as restless leg syndrome and night cramps as well as ankle swelling.  Using the same technique to treat varicose veins, many patients report significant improvement in these conditions when treated by Dr. Pittman.  If you are experiencing these issues and have not had success with traditional techniques, get in touch with Vein911 today by calling 855-VEIN-911 (855-834-6911).

We closed out the 7am hour with our new “What’s Trending” segment with Matt Ashwood, social media expert and provider of social media content for the program during the live show.  Matt is a big fan of Instagram and talks tips for business owners on how to use the application including being clear and concise.  Instagram has a feature called “stories” which can be used to tell a story of your day through a series of short video clips that the app pieces together when you are ready to publish the story.  Facebook bought this app a few years ago for a Billion dollars and today it competes primarily with SnapChat for users and attracts many Millennials so if you are chasing that market, consider Instagram in your social media campaign, many older business owners neglect this channel, opting solely for Facebook and Twitter, including Jamie himself.  Find out more about Matt at www.mattashwood.me or www.songbirdagency.com!

In the 8am hour, we welcomed Bob Clark, Jr., President and Owner of Tampa Steel Erecting, Florida’s oldest surviving steel fabrication company.  They were founded in 1945 by Bob’s father and he shares the story of the transitions the company has made through the years.  He began working for his father at age 16 and always knew he would follow in the footsteps of his father as the helm of one of the country’s largest steel fabrication companies.  Today, they focus on bridge fabrication but have a long history of involvement in other structural designs including EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth, Sea World’s Shamu Stadium, and the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. Many award winning brides include Storrow Drive, Boston; Casco Bay Drawbridge, Portland and 17th Street over I-75 in Atlanta. They are currently fabricating Gateway to Dallas, Twin Arch Bridges, 300 feet high spanning 1,125 feet!  Located on Hwy 41 S near Gibsonton, this company is one of Tampa’s leading businesses with a deep, rich history of involvement in the community.  Bob is also an avid supporter of the Miss America pageant and frequently involved in charity events and out networking with other business owners.  Learn more about them at www.tampasteelerecting.com!

Our 8:30 guest was Linda Donegan, owner of her own Virtual Assistant company.  Linda is a native born Floridian and grew up in Orlando and attended the University of Central Florida where she received a Bachelors in Marketing and Management with a second Bachelors in Accountancy and Finance. She was recruited by PriceWaterhouse Coopers, who transferred her to Tampa where Linda passed the CPA exam and had an active license in Florida for 32 years. After 5 years of public accounting, Linda entered industry and worked for companies like Dun and Bradstreet/Nielsen and eventually became the CFO of several companies. After a health issue arose in 2011, Linda decided to pursue her passion of working with small business. As an expert in administrative functions, she found her niche in providing virtual services for small to mid-market, overwhelmed small business owners.  Linda and Jamie talk about how she works with small business owners in a variety of task from basic administrative duties to advanced financial accounting and bookkeeping which is her professional background.  She works with business owners in all areas of practice from bloggers to bookkeepers and Realtors, just to name a few.  Reach out to her today at 813-551-1754 or linda@lindadonegan.com for more information and learn more at http://www.lindadonegan.com!

Our guest today at 7am was Scott Carson, aka “the Note Guy, and he has been an active real estate investor since 2002 and solely focused on the note industry since 2008 where he buys and sells non-performing mortgages on residential and commercial real estate directly from banks and hedge funds.  His common sense approach to note investing has helped thousands of new and experienced real estate investors add notes to their portfolios.  Scott is the CEO of WeCloseNotes.com and the creator of the Note Buying for Dummies workshop that focuses on the 3 F’s of Note buying…The Find, Fund and Flip.  He has purchased over half a billion dollars in distressed debt for his own portfolio and purchases assets in over 30 states across the United States.  He is a highly sought after speaker on distressed debt and was the 2014 Note Educator of the Year winner from the 28th Annual Noteworthy Convention.  He has also been featured in numerous newspapers including Investor’s Business Daily, The Wall Street Journal, and Inc.com.  He has also spoken at the National Association of Realtors National Convention, The National REIA Cruise and real estate investment clubs all across the country.  Jamie and Scott share a great discussion on the ins and outs of note buying and Jamie is somewhat familiar with the market because it is related to REO homes which is what happens eventually to a distressed note when the borrower does not pay the mortgage.  Scott shares with us some of the numbers on what is going on behind the scenes with the servicers and their mortgage pools and talks about the exit strategies and ROIs they are looking for on a typical note or portfolio.  The market is tricky to navigate he says, you just have to know people to buy from, there is no central exchange or database to go for note buying.  He is a speaker and trainer too so if you are interested in learning more, head over to www.weclosenotes.com to find out about his programs!

At 7:30, we welcomed Jason Woody, CEO and President of Lions Eye Institute.  He and his dedicated team have helped bring the “gift of sight” to over 67,000 men, women and children around the world His true commitment to help those blind or visually has been demonstrated by his over 25 year tenure with the Lions Eye Institute.

Jason serves on multiple boards and committees such as the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, University of Tampa Board of Fellows, and the Executive Committee of the Eye Bank Association of America and Donate Life America as the Chair.  In addition Jason serves on the Organ and Tissue Education Panel for Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to represent the interests of the public with regard to increasing the number of organ and tissue donors within the state. Jason was in studio today to talk about the upcoming 10th Annual Eye Ball being held October 22 at the Westly Event Center, formerly known as the Mainsail Event and Conference Center.  This is a black tie, who’s who event of Tampa.  With around 300 expected to attend, this will be a place you want to be seen.  Pick up tickets by following this link and learn more at www.lionseyeinstitute.org!

At 8am, we had our first installment of Ambassador Monday.  This segment will air monthly and will highlight members of the Tampa Bay Business Owners who serve as Ambassadors to the organization.  The role of the Ambassador is to promote the organization outside of meetings to others and to assist with events and introduce new members to others during events.  They are a critical part of the organization and we thank them for their service and dedication to TBBO.

“Walking” With The Walk Law Firm – #ThatBusinessShow – #TBBOTuesday – Featuring Dr. Ron Eccles, Rochelle Walk, and Jim McPeak

“Walking” With The Walk Law Firm – #ThatBusinessShow – #TBBOTuesday – Featuring Dr. Ron Eccles, Rochelle Walk, and Jim McPeak

Welcome back to the start of another productive and entertaining week of #ThatBusinessShow.  After a long, wet weekend, we hope everyone enjoyed their time off and is ready to get back to the daily grind.  The show is on daily and is live in studio, available from 7am to 9am and online via the video stream at www.tampabayradio.com.  We work to bring you positive programming each morning; an alternative to news, sports and political talk.  We announced the Tampa Bay Business Owner’s Business Symposium last week and tickets and sponsor opportunities are now on sale.  Visit www.tbbo.org/symposium to pick up tickets and learn more.  The event will be one you do not want to miss.  With over 400 expected to attend, we will be celebrating World Chocolate Day with Award Winning Chocolatier William Dean Chocolates and the event will be highlighted by our Shark Tank Panel of Experts – come out and hear real stories of participants on the show and how they fared, including one who got a deal!!

Opening up the program today was Dr. Ron Eccles, Speaker, Coach and Business Trainer with Make Your Mark.  Dr. Ron is an accomplished entrepreneur having worked in many industries including Chiropractic, Real Estate Investments and Sales and was in studio today to talk about the 4 Rules of Business Success.  Rule one is figure out what you want.  While it seems simple enough, many people do not know or understand their own wants and needs.  Dr. Ron uses the analogy of trying to hit a target that you cannot see.  You must be laser focused on your wants so that you can develop a plan to hit your target.  Next, you must be willing to pay the price necessary to get it.  This is not necessarily a financial investment but rather a commitment to the time and resources you must commit to obtain your goal.  For many, this involves a sacrifice of comfort, entering a world of discomfort to get to the level they desire.  Dr. Ron shares with us a great quote that demonstrates this point too comparing those that are merely interested versus those that are committed – tune in to hear the line.  #3, The price of success must be paid up front and in full.  There are no lay away plans with success.  You must be willing to sacrifice who you are for who you are wanting to become.  The 4th rule is simple in writing but hard to practice and that is you must develop unwavering FAITH.  Whether it’s a belief in a higher power or an unrelenting belief in your own abilities, you must BELIEVE!  Dr. Ron is an amazing speaker and trainer and is holding an upcoming Business Seminar on October 6th at the Tampa Hilton Airport Hotel.  This is free and is not going to be a high pressure sales event.  Entrepreneurs from all levels will get some great takeaways from attending and you can register for this at www.mymsuccess.com/florida – be sure to attend and commit to your business!

At 8am, we kicked off TBBO Tuesday with one of TBBO’s most loyal Sponsors and Members, Rochelle Walk of the Walk Law Firm.  Rochelle is also the Presenting Sponsor for the upcoming Business Symposium and is a specialist in all areas of business law.  As an attorney, she has represented clients in a wide range of legal transactions and disputes including complex commercial, insurance coverage, real estate, construction, financial restructuring and employment matters. She has served as an ombudsman in employment, elder care, NAACP, creditor and shareholder matters and has worked with a number of different international unions to resolve concerns. Most recently she has been engaged to help business partners and owners resolve disputes and differences so that their businesses can operate more effectively. Her work includes mediating and negotiating buy-sell agreements, partner or member buy-outs and new partner or member admissions for LLCs, partnerships and corporations.  Rochelle is also a Martindale-Hubbell Preeminent (AV)-rated lawyer and has been consistently named as one of the Top Lawyers in Tampa Bay since moving to Florida in 2007 and is included in Martindale-Hubbell’s inaugural and all subsequent editions of its Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers (2011-present).  She joined the #MorningDiscussion today to discuss some of the basics of a business sale.  What contract do you use?  Should a business broker be involved?  Does the Tax ID stay with the business or does the new owner acquire?  What areas should be addressed in a contract?  Rochelle and Jamie touched on many of these areas, albeit briefly, but raised some good talking points.  If you are in the business to sale or buy, reach out to the Walk Law Firm.  You can learn more at www.walklawfirm.com!

Our 8:30 segment saw the return of past guest Jim McPeak, Owner of the McPeak Real Estate Firm.  Jim is also an REO agent specialist like Jamie and his firm specializes in REO as well as property management but can help you with all of your Real Estate needs from residential buying and selling to commercial Real Estate.  Jim is a military veteran of the US Air Force and is a tremendous supporter of our military veterans.  He often promotes the VA loan as an excellent way for veterans to get into their first home and tells a story of an 80 year old veteran who just learned he had the benefit and is now buying a home with it!  Jim also opened up a Real Estate School so if you or someone you know is looking to get into Real Estate, reach out to him today.  Learn more at www.mcpeakteam.com or give him a call at 813-495-3875.

Opening up the program today was Mike Murphy, Owner of U-Click, We-Fix, LLC, a computer repair and IT services specialist.  Mike has over 20 years’ personal & professional experience and took his knowledge and 2 degrees (an Associates in Computer Networking and a BS in Info Systems security) into corporate America for 8 years. During this time he realized that corporate takeovers and cube farms were not his style. So, in 2014 he and his wife decided that they wanted to join the community of small business owners. Thus, started U-Click-We-Fix LLC.  Mike works with business owners of all shapes and sizes but his niche is mid-level and entry level business owners.  He offers disaster recovery planning and stresses the importance of having a business continuity plan.  Managed IT services are just another area that he works with business owners on too and elaborates on that in this segment.  We also learn of the proper way to dry out a phone in the event of water damage with your cell phone, avoid the rice he says, there is a chemical for sale in stores designed specifically for this.  Find out more at www.uclickwefix.com or give him a call today at 813-793-7999 X 1.

We next welcomed Miller Townsend, Head Chef and Founder of HoneyBlaze, a buffalo style sauce with a kick.  He is a self-taught Chef, starting out in his younger years where he catered and sold roadside BBQ on nights and weekends. During these years he developed a passion for cooking and business. Soon after, he teamed up with a group of restaurant entrepreneurs in Tampa, Florida to create a sports bar concept, which now includes several restaurants. Miller developed menus, created recipes, and led the back of the house. In 2010 Miller left the food industry and joined the United States Army, where he further developed logistical and supply chain management skills serving in a leadership role. After several years in the Army and corporate world, he is back in the kitchen creating flavors for the food service industry. Miller now advises all sizes of restaurants on new and current trends, while keeping the back of the house efficient and profitable.  Today the sauce can be found in restaurants across Tampa Bay and even inside Gillette stadium, the Patriots stadium.  He shares the story of how this opportunity came together during this segment too.  The sauce is soon to be available in store fronts around Tampa but for now, find it online at www.honeyblaze.com!

At 8am, Chris Krimitsos checked in to the program with a recap of the filming in Puerto Rico for the documentary, The Messengers.  The film is self-funded by Chris and is a local film based here in Tampa and his crowd funding campaign is now at 57% of its goal – help out here with whatever you can and if you contribute certain amounts, you can get benefits and recognition alongside the film.  https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-messengers-a-podcast-documentary/x/14701684#/ is the link to contribute, don’t delay and help out today!!!

Our next guest was Matthew J. Lapointe, attorney with the Tampa business law firm of Wetherington Hamilton, P.A.  Matt serves as legal counsel to a variety of entrepreneurs and closely-held businesses, advising them on entity selection and formation, internal governance matters, debt and equity financing, acquisitions and divestitures, succession planning and other matters. Matt also provides advice on franchising and distributorships and handles commercial real estate transactions for his business clients.  Many of Matt’s clients are in the healthcare industry, including professional practices (such as physician group practices and dental practices) and healthcare institutions (such as hospitals, assisted living facilities and nursing homes). In addition to advising these healthcare clients on typical business matters, Matt handles their regulatory compliance issues as well, dealing with physician anti-referral laws, Medicare/Medicaid fraud & abuse laws, HIPAA privacy and security regulations and various state licensing laws.  Matt and Jamie share a great discussion on why an LLC is preferable to a corporation as well as the differences between an S-corporation and a C-corporation.  Matt also touches on an often overlooked component of the LLC setup when multiple members are involved and that is the need for buy/sell agreements inside the LLC.  Matt fills us in on the new overtime regulations and how they will impact small business owners too and we discuss the differences between salary and hourly workers in this segments.  Business can be a complicated field so do not navigate it alone, find out more at www.whhlaw.com or reach out to Matt at mattl@whhlaw.com or phone at 813-676-9075!

The bad news is that it takes more money and puts more pressure on their retirement accounts to pay for that long life. Celine knows this, and is dedicated to advising you in your retirement. Hope is not a very reliable strategy. If you want to own your future you must begin to plan for retirement today! Yes, he still does some training, but running a business does take some time out of his routine, so he lets his expert trainers take the reigns. JD aspires to be the owner of multiple studios in the area and to be a very big influence on the health and fitness of a lot of people in Pinellas County and Tampa. If you missed his segment on the #MorningAir, check it out at http://www.tampabayradio.com! And you can also learn more about JD Christie at http://www.fitnesstogether.com/bellairbluffs!

At 8AM, Jamie Meloni welcomed in Nicholas Paras of Alpha Computing Solutions, of which you can learn more at: http://www.alphacomputing.com/. Today is Thursday which means it was #TechThursday here on #ThatBusinessShow! On the more serious note, Nick brought up the troubles of the country when it comes to real tech solutions. The sad reality is that internet speeds and even connection can vary by zip code. Some Americans don’t even have internet service to begin with. He touched on the battle for net neutrality, and to prevent companies to create fast lanes only for paying customers, and many more monopolizing actions. ” On the grand scheme of things, you really don’t want that you really want kind of this open Internet where you can freely go where you wish.” Nicholas Paras on #ThatBusinessShow. Maybe you’re concerned with the current rising costs of your IT services, or maybe you are just running short on time because of your expanding business and need to hand over the reins of some services to someone else. Whatever your reason, Alpha Computing Solutions can help you with quality IT services today.Head over to their site to learn more. Also, you can find the rest of #TechThursday with Nicholas Paras at our YouTube Channel at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMJak6KvngY

Opening up today’s show was the team of Klara Cadieux (Owner) and Rick Engels (President) of Cadieux Fashion.  Launched by Klara in Europe, this fashion line is expanding into the US market beginning today here in Tampa.  Klara began developing her fashion line in 2012 and she describes the product line as upscale with moderate pricing.  The same materials that are used in all the name brand designs are the same used in the Cadieux brand.  Originally from Croatia, Klara studied and practiced fashion throughout Europe including Dubai, France and Switzerland.  Her products have been worn by many celebrities and dignitaries abroad and they hope to soon see their product on the Red Carpet in Hollywood, the pinnacle of a fashion designer’s success.

She was joined in studio by Rick Engels, long-time friend and President of the Cadieux brand.  With a strong background in Software Engineering, Rick successfully ran and sold his last company after developing an app for the iPad and has now moved onto the women’s fashion industry, a transition few can claim.  He jokes that he much rather enjoys the women’s fashion industry over the software sales business and does not miss the daily grind of the software industry.   The product is just launching in the US so keep the name in mind and look for it shortly in stores and online, Cadieux Fashion!

My 2nd guest on the program was Michael McNelis, Options Strategist with key2Options.  This online platform gives traders in the options market a tool that allows them to predict the ups and downs of the stock market to make effective decisions.  The algorithm, originally created by Ashok, Yarlagadda, the CEO, is based on Finite State Modeling and Michael discusses this briefly but we do not delve too deeply into it as it is a complicated discussion.  The application  helps stock and options investors determine whether a particular stock is bullish or bearish using a numbering system which he explains as well on the segment.  We discuss some of the similar products that have been on the market in recent years as well as some of the basics of put and call options but primarily focus on the system and how it benefits investors.  They have webinars and meet up groups to assist and you can learn more about this program at www.key2options.com or reach out to Michael directly for more information at 813-330-0900.
