Our opening guest today was Dianne Allen, Founder of Visions Applied.  While many think that her company refers to optics in some way, it does not and is a mentorship and assistance program she offers to people to help them find their happiness in life.  You may think of it as life coaching, but Dianne says her program is unique, offering focused solutions for action that yield powerful results for each participant in an uplifting, action oriented and safe environment.  Working towards the values of creativity, open mindedness, action, authenticity and education, Dianne has helped thousands find their paths in life over 30 years in business.  Her powerful corporate presentations are part of her many years of mentoring gifted adults in the workplace and the family. In the 7:30 spot, we welcomed returning guest Wendy Long to the program.  Wendy took a turn out of corporate Human Resources work over a year ago to open the La Dee Da Kids Spa located at 2250 State Road 580 in Dunedin.  Wendy sought out the concept of bringing a child’s imagination to reality while capturing those memories through photographic images. In the closing segment of the 7am hour, we featured our #What’sTrending segment featuring social media expert Matt Ashwood.  A recent implant into the Presidential race through social media channels, Matt joined us in studio to discuss that decision.  In fun, Matt decided to add levity to the 1st Presidential debate last night by posting his photo in Presidential pose with the caption Ashwood 2016 to take away from the negativity on the social media feeds over the debates.  Josh shares with us his efforts to locate a T-Rex too last night at the mall, of which he documented on Facebook at the same time as the debate, thus adding his influence to the heated debates online.  Matt fills us in that the multiple posts by Josh on Facebook would have been much better served up as an Instagram story, a good takeaway from this segment.  Matt also talks about the direction Twitter is taking and how they are likely to sell soon in the future.  Check Matt out online at!

Our 8am guest was Steve Cohn.  Steve is a licensed agent with US Health Advisors here in Tampa where he specializes in lower-premium, $0 deductible health plans for individuals, families and small groups.  He explains that many people are frustrated with their health insurance plans with their high monthly premiums and high deductibles and how that the ACA (ObamaCare) plans have already announced huge increases for 2017 (20% – 40% and more) and that many plans no longer available.

On this edition of #FocusFriday, we were joined in studio by Fran Powers, Founder of Powerstories Theater.  Located at 2105 W Kennedy Blvd, this theater has been in business for over 15 years now.  Fran shares with us how she was feeling stuck in life and a bike ride from Seattle to D.C. inspired her to launch her business and it was the power of storytelling which was the focus of the program today.  Believing that all entrepreneurs have a story behind their brand, Juliann works to bring that story out of the leaders she works with and Fran highlights the power of stories in her theatrical productions at Powerstories.  Focus on the “why”, not the facts and figures is a key takeaway from this segment.  Consumers are moved to buy when you inspire them emotionally, and oftentimes, you why will help connect you to their motivations too because we are all connected in similar ways and capacities.  Stories also help consumers engage and connect with the service provider and the stories work to validate user experiences too.  Powerstories central mission is to inspire and guide young women in their teenage years to find their purpose and story in life to keep them focused on a happy and fulfilling life filled with success and in 2010, Powerstories Theatre won The National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award which is the highest award in the nation presented by the Federal Government. At 8am, we welcomed Bruce Wawrzyniak who is the Founder and President of Now Hear This.  With a focus on management, promotion, and booking, Now Hear This can help any kind of artist soar and get noticed!  The company even has non-music clients, such as authors and an Olympic athlete.  Also, Now Hear This Entertainment is a weekly podcast hosted by Bruce.  The show has been delivered on-time, every week, for two-and-a-half years and has gotten listeners from 121 countries around the world.  It has spawned an eBook series called, “Bruce’s Bonus Book,” with Volume 3 being released this week.  Bruce is also a speaker, having presented at a Young Songwriters Workshop in Nashville, a Content Marketing Summit here in Tampa, and getting ready to do workshops at songwriters festivals in the Florida panhandle in early October and then in Alabama in early November.  Bruce talks with Jamie about how he is more than just a booking agent for talent and works with many of his entertainers on developing their brand / story, a key component once again on this episode.  Bruce also shares with listeners how many entertainers struggle to get noticed because even when booked at a venue, many venues require the entertainers to play cover songs and original works are discouraged.  Venues like YouTube are becoming the new breeding ground for finding new talent too but with a saturated market, it boils down still to “who you know” per Bruce.  Bruce also represents businesses and brands in addition to entertainers and he invites you to give him a call at 813-854-8000 and visit!

In the 7am hour today, we welcomed the duo of Jim Webb and Robert Rorebeck. Jim is the founder of Webb Works and has worked with Robert who serves as the Video Production Coordinator for the past 3 years. Jim is a seasoned Tampa resident and for years worked in television as Photojournalist of Special Projects and performed videography and post-production editing for Channel 8, The Medical Beat, with Irene Maher. He was also the Primary helicopter videographer in “Eagle 8” for 20 years and worked as the consumer investigations unit shooter and editor for 5 years. Robert and Jim discovered they had several areas of interest in common, including the desire to produce legacy videos. From there, Robert began assisting Jim on various video shoots – weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, ceremonies, and presentations – serving as second camera, audio and lighting grip, and creative consultant. Lately, their focus has been on assisting local business leaders with their self-promotional ‘elevator pitch’ speeches in the comfort and controlled environment of Jim’s south West Shore studio. The elevator pitch process involves the business person writing a 60 or 90 second script on who they are, what they do, and WHY they do it. The script is then downloaded into the teleprompter, read into the camera, and usually in one or two takes, the person has a promotional piece they can put on social media immediately. Results may vary, but the overall response has been very effective in getting their message out and bringing in new business. This discussion is refreshing and reminiscent and touches on Jamie’s family history too involving the legacy of his grandfather who is still one of the last surviving inmates of Alcatraz, having served 15 years in prison for bank robbery alongside the likes of James “Whitey” Bulger and Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers who supposedly escaped from Alcatraz in 1961. Jessica was absent on the #MorningDiscussion but we had an excellent panel of guests to educate, inform and inspire our listeners this morning starting with Karen Pittman, VP of Business Development with Vein911 and wife of Regular Contributor Dr. Chris Pittman who is the Medical Director and CEO. Karen came on the program serving in the patient testimonial role today as she has had many of the procedures done that Dr. Pittman and Jamie have discussed many times on the program. She recently had her hand veins removed via his non-surgical procedure and showed off the result on the program and she also shares a success story of a patient who suffered from ankle swelling and could not walk in heels during events due to the swelling that would cause her feet to swell to a foot size larger. FMOPA collects, preserves, and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known photographic artists. FMOPA also enriches the community by operating outreach programs to educate children and adults. Their Current Exhibition is Undiscovered Self and serves as a retrospective exhibition of Uelsmann’s work spanning over the last 50 years. He remains the forerunner of photomontage in America for the 20th century as he employs multiple negatives to create intricate darkroom works of art. The process involves the combination of his ever growing negatives collection and numerous enlargers to produce the final, dream-like image. Our guest today at 7am was Scott Carson, aka “the Note Guy, and he has been an active real estate investor since 2002 and solely focused on the note industry since 2008 where he buys and sells non-performing mortgages on residential and commercial real estate directly from banks and hedge funds.  His common sense approach to note investing has helped thousands of new and experienced real estate investors add notes to their portfolios.  Scott is the CEO of and the creator of the Note Buying for Dummies workshop that focuses on the 3 F’s of Note buying…The Find, Fund and Flip.  He has purchased over half a billion dollars in distressed debt for his own portfolio and purchases assets in over 30 states across the United States.  He is a highly sought after speaker on distressed debt and was the 2014 Note Educator of the Year winner from the 28th Annual Noteworthy Convention.  He has also been featured in numerous newspapers including Investor’s Business Daily, The Wall Street Journal, and  He has also spoken at the National Association of Realtors National Convention, The National REIA Cruise and real estate investment clubs all across the country.  Jamie and Scott share a great discussion on the ins and outs of note buying and Jamie is somewhat familiar with the market because it is related to REO homes which is what happens eventually to a distressed note when the borrower does not pay the mortgage.  Scott shares with us some of the numbers on what is going on behind the scenes with the servicers and their mortgage pools and talks about the exit strategies and ROIs they are looking for on a typical note or portfolio.  The market is tricky to navigate he says, you just have to know people to buy from, there is no central exchange or database to go for note buying.  He is a speaker and trainer too so if you are interested in learning more, head over to to find out about his programs!

Opening up the program today was Dr. Ron Eccles, Speaker, Coach and Business Trainer with Make Your Mark.  Dr. Ron is an accomplished entrepreneur having worked in many industries including Chiropractic, Real Estate Investments and Sales and was in studio today to talk about the 4 Rules of Business Success.  Rule one is figure out what you want.  While it seems simple enough, many people do not know or understand their own wants and needs.  Dr. Ron uses the analogy of trying to hit a target that you cannot see.  You must be laser focused on your wants so that you can develop a plan to hit your target.  Next, you must be willing to pay the price necessary to get it.  This is not necessarily a financial investment but rather a commitment to the time and resources you must commit to obtain your goal.  For many, this involves a sacrifice of comfort, entering a world of discomfort to get to the level they desire.  Dr. Ron shares with us a great quote that demonstrates this point too comparing those that are merely interested versus those that are committed – tune in to hear the line.  #3, The price of success must be paid up front and in full.  There are no lay away plans with success.  You must be willing to sacrifice who you are for who you are wanting to become.  The 4th rule is simple in writing but hard to practice and that is you must develop unwavering FAITH.  Whether it’s a belief in a higher power or an unrelenting belief in your own abilities, you must BELIEVE!  Dr. Ron is an amazing speaker and trainer and is holding an upcoming Business Seminar on October 6th at the Tampa Hilton Airport Hotel.  This is free and is not going to be a high pressure sales event.  Entrepreneurs from all levels will get some great takeaways from attending and you can register for this at – be sure to attend and commit to your business!
