She has made her mark internationally in the fitness industry with her revolutionizing online training and content delivery programs including her Squat Booty Secrets Workout Program! “Bikini Boss” is one of social medias most popular fitness Phenom’s, inspiring and helping people around the world to improve their health and fitness. At 250,000 plus followers, her presence continues to grow rapidly because of her straight-up, in your face approach to health and fitness. Author of “Boss to Bikini” – Amazon’s #1 Mover & Shaker in 2016

Carolynn, who works with Theresa on her PR, shares with us a recent successful pitch that got Theresa National media coverage – New Rear’s Resolutions.  Simple fitness tips to improve your butt through fitness and diet.  “It’s all about positioning yourself in the industry as an Expert” states Carolynn.  This is one of her steps to PR and marketing magic.  Some of her other tips are:

  • Target the correct media to ensure you are reaching out to the journalists, editors and producers who communicate to your target audience.
  • Use a publicity calendar so that you do not miss opportunities to get on TV
  • Understand timeliness and trending news to increase your chances for coverage in a well-timed angle to pitch

Theresa speaks to her journey as a leading fitness Expert in a very crowded field of service providers and stresses the importance of positioning via branding.  The biggest mistake people make is having no strategy.  She shares with us in the beginning she focused her strategy on Instagram posts and that quickly grew her influence and today is the focal point of her business in terms of new clients.  She puts herself out to her audience as her authentic self and cautions against posts that are systematic and always focused on selling.  Theresa also talks about a great resource on branding and differentiating yourself called The Purple Cow, a book written by Seth Godin.  You can pick up a free copy of this via audio book by visiting too!

She closes with a discussion on the do’s and don’ts of social media which are:

  • DO be authentic
  • DO tell your story
  • DO educate and inform
  • DO provide value
  • DO stay true to your values
  • DON’T do what everyone else is doing ( brown cow)
  • DON’T talk in 3rd person
  • DON’T spam followers with ads
  • DON’T post pics with no caption and hashtags
  • DON’T post self- absorbed pics

Both of these women are excellent sources for improving your business and brand.  Learn more about Carolynn at or give her a call today at 813-758-8460 for help with your public relations and more about Theresa at  Catch this complete interview at and like us on Facebook here and please follow us on Twitter @thatbizshow to support entrepreneurs!

Examine the Examen App Featuring Brian Kornfeld and Matthew Cole!

Apps are opportunities!! Do you have an app idea? It starts there, just an idea! Get with Brian Kornfeld today to turn your idea into APTION! 727-415-6705 or!

In this segment, we heard from Mathew Cole, a third-generation Floridian, UF graduate, an avid runner, reader, and supporter of the arts. While out for a jog in the Spring of 2015 and listening to an audiobook, he learned of the Jesuit’s optimistic examen prayer. Inspired, Matt searched for an app that promoted positive daily posts, the sharing of nonprofit activities, and a philanthropic spirit. Surprised to discover no such app existed, he created his own! Examen was born.

Matt contacted Brian to design and develop Examen and both were in studio today to discuss its usage and features. It is currently in Version 1.0 and available in the iOS Store and will be in the Android Store within a few days. Designed as a community that promotes positivity, users upon registering will be guided through submitting their volunteer history, another feature of the app designed to act as a central warehouse for volunteering while falling in line with the mission of the app which is focusing on positive and inspiration.

Brian’s vision for PopKorn Apps grew out of his passion for accomplishment. With a background in Aerospace Engineering, app design fit well within his skillset and he discusses some of the methodology including LEAN and Agile in this segment and how they apply to design. He has worked on satellites that are now in orbit and stresses that as an engineer, his eye for attention to detail and ability to pick up on efficiencies to keep costs minimized with the app development.

Other designs by Brian include the RhiKnow App that he developed last year that works as a social network to get recommendations from just your friend/peer network on places to eat, travel and more; think of it as Yelp with just recommendations from people you know and trust. This app can be found on iOS and Android operating systems free of charge too.  Brian’s other creations include Cheap Buzz which is a great way for college students to hear about deals at local bars. CheepBuzz allows for bars to post any special and have the users sort through and see what they might like.  Users can even get better specials by using the “Chick-In” function, which will only work while they are at a given bar during the time of the deal. There is also Eazy Menu which is a new and innovative way to help you pick your best option to eat at a large number of restaurants. EazyMenu takes your dietary preferences and restrictions to help comb through large menus while helping you easily read in a dark restaurant, saving you time and stress.  There have been many app success stories in the news lately including PikMyKid which we highlighted last year just after launch and today is in discussion with Microsoft on a deal. With the move from desktop to mobile, apps are in high demand, you just need an idea to get started.  Brian invites you out for a discussion free of charge – give him a call at 727-415-6705 and visit him online at and learn more about Examen at!
