Working to Make Tampa Bay a Bicycle Friendly City – #ThatBusinessShow Featuring Jim Yeager, Sheila Laneve, and Christine Acosta

It is a wet and rainy day in Tampa day but the show goes on.  Many events going on in the area tonight including Beer and Bow Ties benefiting the Tampa Crisis Center in an effort to raise awareness for suicide prevention.  This event is going on the Ritz Hotel in Ybor and tickets can be picked up at  The Indo-US Chamber meeting is tonight, this is always a great networking event and is free of charge to attend.  6:30 pm at the Westin Hotel on the Courtney Campbell Causeway to attend that event.  Also Jamie was planning to try out some new stand up comedy at the F’Up Nights at Cigar City Brewing at 6pm tonight but the event was cancelled due to the rain.  The event features entrepreneurs sharing their stories of failure in business along with some open mic’ers and is now re-scheduled for Wednesday September 7th at 6pm.  Jamie will not be able to attend that event due to a conflict with the TBBO Main Event going on at the same time.

Opening up the program today was Jim Yeager of Yeager and Company.  Jim and his company are General Contractors specializing in flooring as well as kitchen/bath remodels but can assist with all building needs.  Jim is our latest Tampa Bay Business Owner’s sponsor and a third generation Owner of Yeager & Company.  Started out of Philadelphia, their business is now an industry leader in the area.  They come highly recommended with over 600 reviews on Angie’s List and have won the Super Service Award multiple times in multiple categories through Angie’s List.  Jim opened the discussion with an announcement of the winners for a new floor contest they ran and talked about the winner and why he won.  Jim explains how the big box retailers oftentimes offer an inferior product that while backed up by warranty, are often improperly installed.  Jim had to fix one of these installs and he explains how the customer had lived with warped floors for a year due to a deficient install that was denied warranty coverage too.  Jim and his company have a beautiful warehouse in Odessa located at 2310 Success Drive and they invite you up to explore all of the flooring options they have available.  You can find them online at too.

Alongside Jim today was Charlie the Plumber.  Charlie is a past frequent guest that had been on a show hiatus but was back in studio today to light up the mic.  Charlie, who is never at a loss for words, joined the #MorningDiscussion with some commentary on the Colin Kaepernick situation before plugging Jim Yeager and his business model.  Charlie, who is a former pro wrestler and a Marine, is a frequent contributor to a number of radio shows in town too, albeit as an avid caller.  He checks in with Jack Harris and Ted Webb on AM Tampa Bay many mornings too with political commentary and rants and loves to talk politics.  He met up with our social media contact today and is about to launch his social media channels of which he currently has none, not to promote business, but to get involved in the political online discussions.  Be sure to use #AmericanPlumber to agree or disagree with him online.  Charlie never shys from the conversation either, we’ll update soon when he is online!

At 8am, we started #WorkingWomenWednesday.  Jessica Rivelli updated us on the Working Women Conference which is now just around the corner on September 8th and 9th at the Straz Center.  VIP tickets are sold out but general admission are still available at, be sure to use promo code Meloni10 for 10% off of the tickets!

Our next guest to the program was Sheila LaNeve where she is the founder and owner of determineU. She is a certified life and career coach who believes in a co-active approach to identifying and achieving goals and she has a passion for working with students and professionals that need assistance with finding their best educational and/or career path.   Sheila empowers clients by aligning their personality, core values, abilities and interests with proper guidance.  Sheila is certified to administer both the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Assessment and the Strong Interest Inventory Assessment.  Sheila understands the complexities and dynamics of decision-making and aims to alleviate the stress associated with choosing an appropriate career path. Wrapping up the program today was Christine Acosta, Founder of Pedal Power Promoters.  Her vision is to make Tampa a world-class city for bicycle commuters. She founded Pedal Power Promoters in 2014 to spearhead bicycle-friendly initiatives through collaborative public and private partnerships.

Acosta works with key local, regional, and national cycling stakeholders in transportation, health, and urban planning.  Her projects and committees include experts from the Tampa Downtown Partnership, Healthy St. Pete, Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Health, AARP, the MPO’s Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee, and the League of American Bicyclists.

The company creates and implements Bicycle Friendly Business(sm) Certification programs and provides professional bike valet services through its auxiliary company, Tampa Bike Valet, to serve and grow the area’s #PedalPopulation. In the two years since its launch, the woman-owned social enterprise has garnered regional and national prominence within the domain of Bicycle Friendly Business certification.

As enthusiastic as she is about cycling, Acosta was frustrated by her community’s poor safety record for bicyclists and pedestrians.  The Pedestrian Danger Index rates Tampa Bay as the 2nd Worst In the nation. In 2015 she was on the founding board of non-profit Walk Bike Tampa. In 2016 she became its Executive Director. The group acted with urgency to ask for change when Lexi Miranda, 17, was hit and killed while crossing a major high-speed roadway to get to school. WBT pursued a Vision Zero Plan – “No loss of life on our roadways is acceptable” for Tampa. The Plan will serve as the platform for improving safety. Tampa’s City Council, Hillsborough County School Board, Hillsborough County Commission, and Metropolitan Planning Organization have passed resolutions in favor of Vision Zero.  Learn more about her mission and vision at!

Bell Telephone Company, a segment of the Bell System.  That led to more than 30 years in the telecommunications field.  Gerald left Verizon in December of 2009 and Karen followed two years later.  Not wanting to retire we began looking for options in the franchise world and wanting to simply have some FUN.  That is when we got introduced to Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More. At the time they purchased the franchise in 2011 they were just the 28th store in the nation, and now there are more than 76 other locations and growing rapidly from coast to coast and border to border.  They surprised Jamie with his first That Business Show t-shirt as well which he wore throughout the program today.  Located at 3478 Lithia Pinecrest Rd in Valrico, this store front is open Monday through Friday from 10 to 7 and Saturday fro 10 to 5 and can handle many designs and decorating techniques including DTG, CAD cut Vinyl, Dye Sublimation, Screen Print, Embroidery & Spangle.  Find them online at and be sure to visit them for your next event!

Our 7:30 guest was Beth Ross, Founder of Blanket Tampa Bay, a 501c3 non-profit that she launched 3 years ago to serve the homeless in Tampa Bay.  She started by passing out blankets at Trinity Café and we delve into this story to start the discussion.  Along with blankets, Blanket Tampa Bay provides hygiene products and basic necessities to help make life a little easier for those left homeless in our community as well.  On Monday nights Beth and her husband Ray Ross and Carla Lawson meet with members of the SALT Outreach at St. Peter Claver Church from 7-8pm to help feed those in need of a good meal and pass out blankets and supplies.   The biggest challenge Beth sees is the lack of housing in the community for the homeless and shares with us some stats outlining the situation of the homeless in Tampa Bay.  Blanket Tampa Bay is trying to raise funds on their Go Fund Me Page to create an Urban Rest Stop in Tampa where the homeless can go wash their clothes and take a shower. The link for the Go Fund Me Page is: and Beth also invites you to like her Facebook page found at Please help her cause.  She funds the majority of the organization from her own pocket and to date has only had $1800 in contributions to her organization!

At 8am, we launched TBBO Tuesday but Chris was out sick with a cold today so Jamie held it down with Josh and Matt Ashwood.  Matt is also a TBBO member and has been providing in studio social media services to the program for the past several weeks.  He works with Songbird Agency, a company we have highlighted on the program before and he shares with us some tips on SnapChat as well as the benefits of Instagram stories and how those work.  Jamie announces his return to the open mic (comedy) stage which will be Wednesday night at Cigar City Brewing at 6pm, part of the open mic portion of F’ Up Nights.  This event is a National movement of entrepreneurs sharing stories of failures with groups of people, hence, they f’ed up.  Many cities have these events and you can easily find them in Facebook groups too.  Jamie shares with the audience the bit he wrote and will be performing too on stage for the open mic.  Jamie also shares with us the story of his first time on a stage doing comedy as well as some of the basics of how you write a comedic piece.

Opening up the program today was Regular Contributor Brian Kornfeld, Owner of PopKorn Apps.  Brian saw an opportunity in app design to shave tens of thousands of dollars off of the cost of app development and took the entrepreneurial dive with PopKorn Apps.  Brian has produced many apps and can get that idea to the marketplace for you.  He spends the hour with us and shares some incredible information on how to monetize apps and also talks about some of the differences in mobile operating systems and how they relate to apps.  He shares with us also the story of his entrepreneurial journey which began when he had an idea for app that he wanted to produce.  While trying to outsource it, he was amazed at the incredible costs associated with the app production and worked to find a solution.  That app was RhiKnow and he successfully built and launched that app on his own.  The RhiKnow app, which is available on iOS and Android operating systems worked as a social network but with the ability to look for feedback and recommendations on different outings from people within your own sphere of influence.  The idea was to get feedback from people you knew and trusted versus online networks that have feedback from many unknown sources.  Brian advises if you have that idea, don’t wait.  Get in touch with him today for a free discussion over a cup of coffee.  Find him online at or phone at 727-415-6705.

Our 8am guest was Brett Dulaney, Owner of ESPN Events.  Brett Dulaney joined ESPN as the first executive director of the St. Petersburg Bowl, created in 2008 by ESPN Events, a division of ESPN. Dulaney manages the day-to-day operations for the South Florida bowl, as well as work on sponsorship sales for ESPN Events, mainly in the Florida market.  He previously served as general manager of the University of South Florida-ISP Sports Network where he directed the sponsorship, radio and television department for USF Athletics.  He is in his second stint with ESPN, as he began his sports marketing career with the network in its university projects division in 2003.  Brett is a native of West Virginia as is Jamie and they are a brief exchange about how they came to leave the State whereas many never do in that State and how today Brett’s company owns 13 different football bowls and 9 different basketball events.  He explains the relationship with ESPN and how he works to launch different events in cities and the benefits they have to the city and how he gets them off the ground.  To learn more about Brett, find him online at!

At 8:30, we welcomed Sandra Fidelis.  Sandra is an online business coach, speaker and author who works with women entrepreneurs who want to be in the top 5 percent of their industry. She teaches women the exact marketing to fill their client roster with ease, shows them how to charge what they’re worth and create a booming business from the ground up without the overwhelming feeling.  Jamie and Sandra discuss the 4 reasons your business may be stuck and she invites you to see your own result at  The 4 areas focused on mindset, knowing your value, marketing and lead generation and she goes into depth on how she works with her clients to improve these areas.  She came from a corporate position and one day took the entrepreneurial dive with a spur of the moment decision to leave her job and today is very happy in what she does.  She works with many other coaches and also works a lot with therapists too.  Have her take a look under the hood of your business – find her online at or give her a call today at 347-994-0189.

Each guest gets a 20 minute interview on live radio, video stream, professional photography, blog written about their appearance, placed on our past guest list which then becomes part of the “key connections” I promote where I connect people to share business, and lots of social media exposure including short video clips on – also by taking advantage of the rebate, you get an additional radio show appearance too without fee plus you join Tampa’s Premier Business Society, TBBO and get access to many events and educational workshops & more – this is a tremendous offer for business owners!!

It’s the end of the week so that means it is time for #FocusFriday on #ThatBusinessShow!  This segment is brought to us by Juliann Nichols, CEO of Focus on You Strategy, Bringing out the CEO in You!  Take advantage of one her CEO Exchanges to get valuable feedback and insight on the challenges inside your business.  These small, peer to peer groups provide valuable information that you can immediately put to use for you and your business!!  The next CEO Exchange is September 1st from 11am to 1pm at the C1 Bank on Westshore in Tampa and you can schedule online at  Continue the discussion online at by joining the group too!

Alongside Juliann today was fellow business owner Britt Galipault.  She owns Business Builders Bookkeeping, LLC and specializes in bookkeeping for construction / contractors.  She met Juliann while attending an NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) meeting and decided to attend a CEO Exchange.  From there she was hooked and Juliann has helped Britt realize her true value.  As Britt begins the growth phase of her business, Juliann and Focus on You Strategy has given her systems and processes to help her learn how to delegate and manage, two of the challenges she sees in her business.  The discussion moves into a talk on the role of the bookkeeper and how they differ from accountants.  Bookkeepers are much more in tune with the daily activities of the business and also ensure you are kept up to date on new rules and regulations as well as helping you figure out how much money you are actually making or losing.  Britt is certified in QuickBooks and we discuss the online versus desktop version of the software and we find that many business owners still prefer the desktop version of the software.  Jamie mentions that years ago when he entered the Real Estate business that he had to learn QuickBooks quickly because of the need to manage so many expenses related to the management of REO homes.  He mentioned an old YouTube video he produced that he would help other agents train with and that video on how to use QuickBooks for REO Agents can be found here Britt also services medical and non-profit clients but her niche is construction.  She is expanding her services to include tax preparation and we close out the discussion with a talk on tax fraud.  If you are in need of a bookkeeper, reach out to Britt today, find her online at or phone at 727-386-3876!

At 8am, Jamie stepped aside and Dr. Ron Eccles, Business Coach and Speaker with Make Your Mark stepped into the host seat.  The #MorningDiscussion then continued with Wendy Leigh, Chief Development and Marketing Officer at the University Area Community Development Corporation, UACDC.  She joined the UACDC in August of 2015 after a lengthy and varied career in education and the arts.  The mission of the UACDC Community Outreach Committee is to engage University Area residents through personal outreach to increase awareness and participation in University Area Community Center programming, events and services.  She mentions some of what the UACDC does and that tonight is the Free Wiz Live Community Night Kick Off.  The community is invited to a free screening party to view the Kenny Leon-directed television version of The Wiz Live, in celebration of and in preparation for, the University Area CDC’s fifth annual gala on Friday, Sept. 23.  The gala’s theme will be A Brand New Day, from the popular Broadway show and film, The Wiz Live. This Brand New Day gala will raise much-needed funds for the University Area CDC, which works to improve the economic, education and social levels of the community through youth programs and adult education and resource assistance.  The University Area CDC provides support for thousands of Tampa residents through youth programs, adult education and resource assistance. Its primary mission is the redevelopment and sustainability of the at-risk areas surrounding University of South Florida’s Tampa campus. For more information about UACDC, a 501(c)(3) public/private partnership, visit

Our 8:30 am guest was Rob Hicks, Assistant Coach for KNO3.  He began his professional career in real estate 30 years ago as a commercial real estate appraiser and is the fourth generation in his family to work in real estate in the Tampa Bay market, holding both a General Real Estate Appraisal Certification as well as a Real Estate Brokers License.  Rob has worked in real estate sales, leasing, construction management, property management and public & governmental relations. Many of these opportunities came during the 10 years he was Vice President of Real Estate for Clear Channel Outdoor.  He also serves as a certified small claims court mediator at the Pasco County Courthouse.  Rob has been active in his community serving as President of his Tampa neighborhood association and Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 53 where his two sons attend.  He was in studio to discuss KNO3 which is a competitive robotics team representing Plant High School.  They started the team in 2013-2014 school year with 4 students who had taken a technology class in middle school and participated in a FIRST FLL program.  As freshmen at Plant High School they wanted to continue working with robotics, but Plant did not have any formal STEM programs in place.  They approached Principal Rob Nelson, to ask if they could start a competitive team and he was very encouraging.  Unfortunately, there is no infrastructure in place at Plant to support this type of program, but not to be deterred, the Team was formed and supported by parent coaches.  All meetings are held in the Coach’s house and garage.  The team competes in the Hillsborough County League called ROBOT League of Tampa Bay.  There are usually 16-24 teams in any given year in our league and are from other high schools.  The season kicks off in early September, when their “challenge” is revealed.  Students then will spend time strategizing, brainstorming ideas, drawing, designing the ultimate robot that can accomplish some or all of the tasks outlined in the “challenge” The competition is played on a 12’ X 12’ field with two alliances (red and blue) of two teams each. The object of the game is for robot alliances to score as many points as possible in a 2 ½ minute match.  The match game includes both an autonomous period and a driver controlled period. During the autonomous period, the robots are pre-programmed to perform tasks and must use sensors to guide them in the field.  During the driver controlled period, student will drive their robot using game pad controllers.  Last year the challenge was “Res-Q” Points are awarded when the robots perform certain tasks including detecting colored lights, collecting balls and blocks, placing these in baskets located on ramps, and climbing the ramp to ultimately hang from the highest ramp bar.  Last year they made it to States in their first year of competition, but were one and 2 ranks away from attending State in the past 2 years.  Disappointing, but to be 25th in a field of 150 within the State working out of a garage was still very exciting.  Last year at Hillsborough County League Championships, they were an Alliance Capitan in the Final Round but lost to the Championship team.  They are always looking for mentors and sponsors.  They have a need to learn CAD design and have been dabbling with Autodesk Inventor 2016 which is available free to students, but they would like to become more accomplished and having someone who is familiar teach them would be great.  And of course, they can always use and appreciate funding.  Learn more at!

Creating Leadership in Tampa Bay – #TechThursday on #ThatBusinessShow – Featuring Dr. Loren Murfield, Nicholas Paras, and Dr. Maulik Bhalani

Creating Leadership in Tampa Bay – #TechThursday on #ThatBusinessShow – Featuring Dr. Loren Murfield, Nicholas Paras, and Dr. Maulik Bhalani

Get on #ThatBusinessShow today – visit and schedule an interview and take advantage of our promotional offer for $100 off membership in Tampa Bay Business Owners – limited time only!!  Get your message and business in front of up to 5,000 people through the program and you will get additional radio time on top of that by becoming a member in Tampa Bay Business Owners.

At 7am, we welcomed Dr. Loren Murfield to the program.  Dr. Loren Murfield is an Author, Speaker and Leadership Consultant and works with aspiring and emerging leaders to create radical change and disruptive innovation.  He recently launched PWR University, his online leadership development platform.  He returned to college at age 31 to earn a BS, MA and PhD, before teaching college, becoming an entrepreneur, and writing 13 books, 8 in one year.  He co-authored the soon to be released book, “10 Minutes of Insanity” with Heisman winner Johnny Rodgers and Dr. Murfield created and hosts the TED Talk Think Tank at the Centre Club each month.  He also enjoys co-authoring the annual Centre Club’s Mystery Theater production.  This year’s play is “Who Killed the Customers?” The discussion focused on what is takes to lead and we discussed what is meant by radical change and how that differs from disruptive information with examples like Uber which were discussed.  He sees that egos set many leaders back in their careers and this is his #1 challenge when consulting leaders on how to better themselves professionally.  With the digital age upon us, leadership is changing and business owners must learn to leverage their power, meaning collaborate with others and dispel the competitiveness that so many feel, just one of the many takeaways from the #MorningDiscussion.   Dr. Murfield talks about his book writing process and how his books have taken the place of the traditional business card.  Instead of handing out cards to prospective clients and new contacts, he oftentimes will hand out one of his many books which leaves a lasting impression on the contact.  Helping business leaders write books is also just one of the many services that Dr. Murfield provides through PWRUniversity, his leadership program.  In the final segment, the discussion goes further into the Ted Talk Think Tank that Dr. Murfield spearheaded two years and he invites people to get involved which is easy to do.  Just talk to the hosts at the Centre Club for more on this. To contact Dr. Murfield, find him online at or email at!

At 8am, we launched #TechThursday with Nick Paras, CEO of Alpha Computing Solutions.  The discussion centered around autonomous vehicles in the opening segment as Nick talked about how Uber is making a move to provide their service but without drivers.  They are currently testing a partially self-driving Volvo XC90 in their home base market, Pittsburgh and they hope to one day have truly autonomous vehicles in place of drivers.  Test cars have an actual person on board to copilot but with technology rapidly advancing, truly autonomous vehicles could be right around the corner.  Uber says it will acquire Otto, the self-driving commercial vehicle start-up too and their Founder previously worked on Google’s autonomous vehicle program.  Ford has announced it will have autonomous cars in 5 years and they hope to partner with Uber in this mission.  These cars will not have steering wheels, gas pedals or brake pedals and a driver will not be required.  Ford cites that there are more than 30,000 motor vehicle deaths per year and 90% are from human error, how will autonomous vehicles affect these numbers?  The discussion continued in the second segment centering on one of Nick’s primary services, disaster recovery.  Technology is vital to any business today and 51% of companies who lost data in 2015 said they used hardware backups and 86% of companies who lost data in 2015 said they had a backup strategy in place.  Why did they lose data then?  22% said the backup was not operating properly, 21% said the device was not included in backup procedures and 21% said the backup was out of date.  So what is the solution?  Hire Nick Paras at Alpha Computing Solutions to help you out!!  Visit for more information or call him today at 813-839-7671 X 100!

Our 8:30 guest was Dr. Maulik Bhalani, CEO of Florida Pain Medicine located in Wesley Chapel.  Dr. Bhalani is board certified in Interventional Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Medical Specialties. He has a wide range of experience in treating chronic and refractory pain problems and Dr. Bhalani currently serves as clinical associate professor and faculty for the pain medicine fellowship/department of Neurology at the University of South Florida where he continues to teach fellow and resident surgeons.  The #MorningDiscussion centered around pill mills and how that industry invaded Florida in past year but today is cleaned up thanks to the work of lawmakers and Doctors like Dr. Bhalani.  Dr. Bhalani speaks of the different modalities involved in proper pain management and says that a very small portion of his client base can only be treated with pills.  Through exercise, physical therapy, life-style and diet changes, he can effect great results on patients suffering from chronic pain.  The discussion moves into a talk on the leading source of pain, back pain.  Back paint will affect 90% of the population at one point in their life but surprising to many is that 90% of these pains can be resolved through proper medical care.  According to Dr. Bhalani, “The important thing is how we handle these pains during our worst times and how we get back to restoring function and reliving life as quickly as possible.  If you are experiencing pain and need assistance, reach out to the Doctor today – you can find them online at or phone at 813-388-2948.  They are located at 2553 Windguard Circle in Wesley Chapel and also have locations in Zephyrhills and Brandon!

Our next guest was Ira Anderson – Director with the International Accounting and Assurance firm, BDO. Ira joined BDO in 2015 and has over 25 years of public accounting experience. As an assurance director, he devotes his time to providing audit, review, compilation, financial advisory and tax services to clients predominately in the central Florida area. Prior to joining BDO, Ira served as an assurance partner for Crowe Horwath in Lakeland, Florida. Ira and Jamie talked briefly about the BDO model but quickly digressed into a community talk focusing on Lakeland. Jamie first moved to Florida in 1996 to attend Florida Southern College in Lakeland so Jamie has strong ties to the community too. Ira talked about how Lakeland has developed over the past two decades and the Catapult group which works to keep economic development moving in Lakeland. They touched on the role of Millennials in Lakeland and they share a funny exchange about The Rocky Horror Picture Show of all things. Jamie reminisces about his days as a Fraternity brother in Pi Kappa Phi too during the segment while a student at Florida Southern College and we learn that Jamie is a vandal and not always so professional – tune in to hear more On Demand at or on iTunes. Find out more about BDO at!

At 8am it was #WorkingWomenWednesday where we feature the members of one of Tampa’s most influential networking groups, The Working Women of Tampa Bay. Jessica Rivelli checked in with us to discuss the upcoming Working Women Conference being held September 8th and 9th at the Straz Center. She mentioned a few of the speakers (out of the 28+ being featured) including that of Melissa Dohme who will be speaking on domestic violence. Her story will strike an emotional cord as she survived an attack from her ex-boyfriend in which she received 32 stab wounds and barely survived. Her survival is truly a miracle and she will be just one of the many featured speakers at the conference. Be sure to use promo code Meloni for 10% off of the ticket and register at!

Our next guest on the program was Gabby Soriano, Marketing Director with Hyde Park Village which is owned by WS Development. Hyde Park Village, located on Swann Ave in South Tampa, is a booming area right now with new Restaurants Goody Goody and On Swann recently opening and much more development in the Village on the horizon. Jamie, along with co-host Stella Giudicelli, talked about the shops and appeal of the community which is anchored by many stores including L.A. Fitness and Timpanos as well as the CineBistro! The development is poised to become a huge attraction in South Tampa, successfully rebounding from the downturn result from the opening of the International Plaza which is also discussed on this segment. There is still some vacancy too in the Village so if you are a business owner looking for an entry point into South Tampa, consider Hyde Park Village as an option. Find out more at or reach out to Gabby today at 813-464-6042!

Closing out the show was Kara Barr, Owner of Whiskey Bent Barbeque Supply located at 2401 Merchant Ave in Odessa, Florida. This company is your one-stop shop for anything and everything related to barbequing. Kara opened the location just over 6 months ago and sales are booming with this niche business. From sauces and rubs to grills and aprons, they have anything you need to have a great barbeque! The business, franchised and founded out of Lakeland, is a unique concept and Jamie elaborates on how he wishes he knew of the store earlier. Many people pick up barbeque supplies from their local grocer but Whiskey Bent takes it to the next level. They have over 120 sauces in stock and top of the line grills plus they give classes on how to barbeque! BBQ is an art form. As such it is open to much interpretation. A true connoisseur is always looking for new ways to perfect his or her craft. For that reason, Whiskey Bent – Odessa hosts BBQ classes that teach new skills and tricks from competitors who practice their craft at competitions across the country. Our opening guest today was Minal Patel, Founder of Bottle & Bottega located in Oldsmar.  After working in Corporate America and owning a couple of businesses throughout her career, Minal decided it was time for her to do something for which she truly had a passion. With an affinity for creativity and art, paired with her strong entrepreneurial spirit and background, Minal found the perfect fit within the Bottle & Bottega concept. In August 2015, Minal opened her Bottle & Bottega studio doors to the Tampa Bay community to allow others to explore their creative sides and inner artists.  She shares with us her inspiration in starting the business resulting from a spur of the moment decision to leave her corporate position and how she researched and came to choose Bottle & Bottega.  We learn that a Bottega is the studio of an artist too.  They offer classes in studio and come to you on location as well.  It’s BYOB so bring as little or much as you want at Bottle & Bottega and enjoy a night out with friends or family all while creating a work of art!!  Find them online at or give them a call today at 813-527-0697.  They are located at 3687 Tampa Rd in Oldsmar.

Continuing with our art theme for the hour, we welcomed Mary Mirabal, abstract artist and Owner of Mary Mirabal Art.  Inspired by Native American culture, Mary found her love of painting after being downsized from a corporate position.  She decided to become an artist not even knowing she had artistic abilities.  She has produced over 100 pieces of art in the past few years and sells them online through her website and also in the community.  She is an avid art collector as well and shares with us the mentality and habits of an art collector and she also elaborates on how she presents her art to clients to effect sales, a challenge for any artist.  She paints what makes her laugh and what she loves and her expressions can be found online at  There are many incredible pieces on the site, check her out today online!
